quest to 1000 pages

Haha it mean autocorrect doesn’t like me and I dint read my messages before posting 😅

***I have an Instagram for my art, and a Facebook that I never look at

You know, we have a book club for TKR. It’s a channel on Slack, some discussions on forums, and usually a monthly voice chat on Discord about the book we voted on. Let me know if you’re interested 😀

my Goodreads is just where I keep a list of all the books I’ve read. I’d like to think it’s got a good variety of genres. 🤷 what do you tend to lean towards?

I'm in the Slack channel, just kinda forgot it was there. I am interested however. I lean towards fantasy (which is why I love Brandon Sanderson) , sci-fi, and historical fiction but every summer I try to read more genres like bibliographies and the such.

We’re actually reading Elantris right now. Because of the holidays we pushed back the voice chat to be sometime in January. I haven’t read it yet though.

those are good genres! I like fantasy too. There’s just so much variety in that one genre. I also love folklore/mythology/retelling. Libraries categorize them differently, but basically I love a story shaped by a culture’s traditions. Even if it’s just a retelling or mixing cultures.

How successful are you at the non-fiction reading?
I have a goal of reading ONE nonfiction book a month. 😁 I fail a lot

I don't prefer to read non-fiction, but I do like to geek out with books related to the mind (sometimes). One of my favorites is Atomic Habits if you would like to check it out. It's all about how to acquire good long-term habits and get rid of the desire to do dumb things just to get the immediate short-term satisfaction.

I really love world building and completely different worlds than earth because it feels like you are exploring, so I love books where the author has come up with something completely different. The stormlight archive is actually a good example with the shattered plains/chasms.

I actually have the book Elantris, so I'll read it again and see if I can join the voice chat.

I love psychology books. I try to branch out , but honestly I’d fall dead asleep reading a history book. Thanks for book rec! This AA is a Sanderson magnet. I think their trying to convert me slowly.
I’m tasked with reading so much Sanderson lol

I 100% would fall asleep as well, unless it is historical fiction which is not really a history book. I think that you should definitely be converted... although it has cost me a lot of money in Sanderson books 👀

Me thinking of a historical fiction book I’ve read that doesn’t include some fantasy aspect. The Bronze Drum I think counts

Rereading books is a staple. Sometimes you just want something comfy. I reread Harry Potter too much so it’s less …enticing now. But the’re other easy reads I enjoy.

I browse my library app (Libby) too much so I just keep adding stuff. I might just do a reset n delete all these lists. Start the new year fresh.
