Another expansion to the Justified series. This time, it's about the US' decision to enter the Vietnam War. Some say it was a good idea for the US to enter the Vietnam War because it would help stop the spread of communism throughout Asia while others argue that you're just sending conscripted Americans into a foreign jungle just because it was in the matter of American interests. What da yah think?

This is quite a tricky one for me. On one side, I think it was right for the US to get involved in Vietnam because just like the Korean War, we could've transformed Vietnam into a country with a strong economy just like South Korea today. Instead, North Vietnam won and similar to North Korea, had a struggling economy.

However, I also think that it was wrong for the US to conscript Americans out of their will and send them to combat to fight a foreign war that the US wanted to win. Keep focus on the conscription part. Not to mention that those Americans who made it back home would suffer PTSD just because of a war no one really asked the US to get involved in. So I'm leaning a bit towards other, or undecided.

let me ask my grandpa sense you know.... he lived it while we only learned it and assume it mostly had to do with interest when there was actually more to it. Bet the answer i get isnt the answer im looking for cause you know "grandparents"

no

i could type for days about all the senses in which it wasn't a good decision so go ahead and imagine an argument against it and i'm probably supportive of it

Vietnam under Ho Chin Minh wasn't a majorly supportive ally of China, it was more of a yugoslavia situation. Yet we sent troops into vietnam, but not yugoslavia. In all honesty, vietnam probably would've been more of a neutral state in the war if the US hadn't decided to continue the war the French had been fighting.
