The Wheel of Time

I read up to book... 10'ish? Didn't read the last few. I would have to get a summary to do so and have it make sense. I could probably find one, but I'm lazy.

I'm on the second book currently. I enjoyed Eye of the World, but constant distractions kept me from progressing from the halfway mark of book two. It gets even better in the second one in my opinion.

Just finished book two, I definitely agree about it getting better. It took me a while to get fully captured by book 1 (until the last 100 pages or so), but book 2 had me enthralled the entire time (which is probably why I finished it in less than two weeks lmao). Onwards to book 3~

Update: Finished book 4.

So far I'd rank the books:

  1. Shadow Rising (Book 4)
  2. Eye of the World (Book 1)
  3. The Dragon Reborn (Book 3)
  4. The Great Hunt (Book 2)
Book 5 is not looking good so far. I'm 100 pages in and the story has barely progressed. Based on what other people who have read it and their opinions, that's more or less the story of books 5-9 :(

So I started reading book 1 WoT series. Haven't managed to read very far. My first impression is that it's a much harder book to read. So many long sentences, I've noticed that my mind wanders frequently and I have to re-read sentences. Will struggle on, maybe yesterday I was easily distracted.

My girlfriend is re-reading this series (she made it to book 10 before going away to college and never finished the last 4 books). She was reading book 8 this weekend and kept commenting on how there was a weird time jump between book 7 - book 8 and she was a bit confused. It turns out she skipped a book lmao (we bought a box set and she pulled out the wrong one).

Lol. I'm still in the middle of book one, the point where Rand, Thom and Mat arrived at Whitebridge. It has gotten a lot interesting, but I'm struggling to find time for reading only manage to read before fallinf asleep (like right now) or in the mornings to accompany my breakfast.

Book one is done and I'm in themiddle of book two. I have revised my opinion about the books, they are quite easy to read once you get use to the style. Also I read them in English so that adds a little to the challenge.

My girlfriend is on Book 12, I'm on Book 10. Apparently when Sanderson takes over the writing, the style change is a lot to get used to. On the bright side, Book 12 apparently has a ton of shit happen in it (it's her favorite so far).

My friend that originally showed me Stormlight said that this series was pretty good other than like a couple of books in the middle that are just shit, dunno how much truth there is to this lol. Might check this out after Mistborn

Final stretchof book 5, some reviews suggested it being a boring book till the halfway point. In my opinion it's not boring, one of the best books in this series till now.

I heard the same thing and had the same opinion. I'm thinking being able to read all the books back to back makes them better. Some story lines span two books before they're wrapped up, so it'd probably change my opinion if I had to wait years between books heh

I was told the first book was boring and slow. I think a lot of the descriptiveness of the early part of the book might be part of it but once the plot gets going it has good pacing. I still need to finish book 2... Almost done.

I've been thinking of reading these next.  I'm about halfway through Words of Radiance and finished The First Law trilogy before that.  I hesitate knowing how many books there are in the WoT though.  xD
