This Might Contain Spoilers. You Have Been Warned.
I know I'm way late for this, but I just have to put in my opinion lol.
Personally I was looking forward to this movie, especially since it was a gateway to the much anticipation to the Justice League Movie (still hoping it can somehow also bring in a future Nightwing movie which is way overdue) and Wonder Woman would finally be put in a live action movie. I couldn't see it right away, and I kept seeing articles that said how bad the movie was. I'm the type who could spoil herself to something and still enjoy the material when I watch it (how I'm actually able to be a well-informed Supernatural fan despite not seeing the whole series as of yet), but I refused to spoil this one because I needed to go into it with naïve eyes in my opinion.
My dad and I finally managed to see it, and my final verdict is, I actually liked it. And before I'm labeled biased for being a fangirl, I can point out why some might have issues with the film. It was kind of slow to pick up, Batman actually killing was probably an unwelcomed shock, and it could have had more actual Batman and Superman fighting. Also, with DC TV projects such The Flash, Supergirl, and even the newer DC Legends of Tomorrow, people were probably expecting something more lighthearted, but we got something dark instead. It also doesn't help that for years we've been watching more lighthearted Marvel films and were probably holding the film to that standard.
Now, why I like this movie. I might be in the minority, but I thought Ben Affleck made a good Batman, and I enjoyed his acting, he just managed to bring Bruce Wayne alive in his own way. Samething with the actor for Superman (who's name I can't remember at the moment lol). Lex Luthor was also just plain entertaining to watch in my opinion, the actor really looked as though he was having fun with his role. As for Wonder Woman, despite her low screen time (something that was personal issue with me, but I do have remember that Batman and Superman were the main stars and she was getting her own movie), she was badass! Her fight scenes were some of my favorite parts. Doomsday's introduction was also pretty awesome, which brings me to how I loved the effects.
Also, I liked how it did bring up what a lot of people complain about in comics and in films. When heavy hitter heroes do fight large threats and destruction ensues, doesn't people get hurt or killed and what about the destruction that comes with it and if so why don't the heroes actually be held accountable. While we do see films actually show the good it comes with what they do, the film did point out the cynical side and how heroes can come off as self-righteous if they don't actually see it.
I think Snyder's going trying to go for a more darker series (as I said Marvel's already got a light tone, so he's trying to make DC more unique), and I think this was a decent start. Not a masterpiece but I definitely didn't feel like I wasted my money seeing it and I'd watch it again if given the chance.
And with that, my nerdiness recedes and I finish my presentation of my opinion.
Also sorry for that being a bit long lol.
