.The definition of the amendment has been reinterpreted to the point where it is basically at where I agree it should be at. Though, these interpretations could be changed over time, so I would support editing it to meet the modern interpretation.
Just for clarification, the interpretation I am referring to is government regulation on who, what and where you can buy guns. Guns are for responsible owners.
Guns are but a tool for people to use, people are going to find ways to kill each other if they really want to. But that doesn't mean we have to make it easy for them to do so.

No one wants to remove guns, but we should deff. get smart with restrictions, I see of no reason why the mentally handicapped should have a gun

There are PLENTY of people, that think the world would become a happy snuggly place of love and peace, if the government would but ban guns and confiscate.

In most all states there are laws against mentally handicapped owning guns. you look at the 15 biggest cities that have the toughest gun control laws, but they have the highest crime rates. Detroit, Baltimore, Dover, Chicago all respectively have the toughest gun laws around, but all have highest crime rates. New laws / tougher laws will not curb gun violence. it has been shown over and over again, 80% to 85% of gun violence was committed by illegal guns.
Should some guns be banned from public sales? yes there are, but tougher laws on people getting guns legally will not in any way stop or slow the violence.

They tried that once it was called prohibition, banned and made alcohol production and sale illegal, how well did that work out? criminals made tons of money making and selling, entire police departments and politicians in small towns were paid to look the other way.
you want to start a civil war and see a country implode walk in to peoples houses and tell them your taking their guns. you can take every legally owned gun in the country, but you going to get the guns owned by criminals too? this country would become a slaughter house as criminals run wild.

No because guns don't kill people. People kill people. Although, I chose other because I do believe in gun checks. We need to make sure that people who are mental don't get their hands on a gun, ever. While at the same time, those who use guns for hobbies such as hunting and rifling (sport) shouldn't be restricted on owning a gun.
