Oathkeeper
A Carthago raid hits. They have higher numbers than before, but we have much more armor this time.
Raid results:
We caught two prisoners, but they were too badly wounded to be useful. One lost a kidney. The other one lost an ear and lung. Micchan proposed that we could transfer the kidney from the one without the lung. Smith considers it. But instead we opted to release the prisoners. Carthago were still hostile, but their opinion of us sure improved greatly.
Durham finishes up the Syndicate quest to deliver dusters.
A few weeks later, Esthaevys and Benfro retrieve some valuable glitterworld medicine from a graveyard 2 days away. Several raids happened while they were gone. Some minor injuries happened, which were fixed by our doctors, but more importantly one of the prisoners brought the plague. Benfro caught the plague while tending to a prisoner, but recovers fully later.
We trade off a couple prisoners to buy Azaghul from a slave trader.
Azaghul isn't much of a fighter, but he's a skilled miner and tailor, miles ahead of the others. Within days, a large supply of steel comes in, and several bedrooms are built and expanded.
A heat wave hits, bringing temperatures up to 53 C, overwhelming our power grid and making it impossible to brew beer. Smith adds another power plant in response, but with three plants up, we'll need to find a proper long term power supply.
Several weeks after the release of their prisoners, Carthago offers us a peace treaty.
Raid results:
Benfro, Durham, Esthaevys split into one squad and in position for an ambush.
Benfro gets the first kill, with a heart-shot from his bolt-action rifle.
One of theirs comes to investigate. He's immediately ambushed, and gets his jaw shot off. He lands a solid punch on Durham, before being disemboweled by gunfire. The rest of the raiding team drops quickly, with only Esthaevys sustaining further injuries from a steel club.
Micchan solos the remaining person to the northwest with a limestone club, steel helmet, and no other clothes.
He lands only two punches before dying to a broken arm.
