Not my job to correct their mistakes. I'm too busy anyways to even notice if they made a mistake or not.

Ya if they are going to be an ass to me then their lack of money on the register that day will be between them and their employer, if they are polite or if they just do their job normally then if I see the mistake I will tell them.

Depends how hard it is. If it's face to face, sure. Even if they're rude.

If it's like a drive thru and I've driven a kilometer before realizing they gave me an extra burger, I'll just keep it. Also if it's something like an ATM machine giving out a small bit of extra money.

The most extreme scenario I had was paying off my deceased father's credit card interest. We tried all kinds of ways to pay it off, including meeting with the person in charge of collecting the debt (we had 3 days of meetings and negotiations), transferring it from his acct, so on.

At some point we're like.. if they don't want the money, why are we the ones trying so hard to pay it back?

I kinda had the same issue with some of my clients. Like they'd lend me a test device. Then they fired the project manager I was working with. When I brought up the test devices, that test manager would be like "Oops, I forgot. I'll email you the bill." And even after a few times bringing it up, they still forget. The former project manager had to wink really conspicuously before I got the hint that I should keep it.

Overall, I have a few thousand dollars worth of unreturned stuff.

I had this same thing last week. I was trying to get an electricity invoices to be directed to me instead of my deceased grandaunt. I had to bend over backwards that they'd email me the bills, even after I sent them the documents about the death.

If it's a couple cents it's no big deal and I won't say anything. If she gives me a $10 bill instead of a single then I'll say something because the cashier can get in serious trouble for that

I'd give the money back no matter how they treated me. They could get in trouble for it and even loss there job if they have a bad boss. Also I don't know what that person is going though so there could of been any reason why s/he could of been rude or disrespectful.

Nah I wouldn't give it back. I know I should but I'd consider it my lucky day. I'm too poor to do the right thing in that situation.

I'd give it back.

I've had plenty of cashiers that were disinterested, but I've never had a cashier be downright rude.
