Yes, I've tried different brews. My first was a secreat brew when I was 15. Made 20 liters of beer from bread. Bread taste was pretty strong, but it got the buzz going and that's all you need at 15.

Later I've made some different pilsners. I've mostly used some base product I've bought. Success has varied alot - I've had the most issues with getting the colour and clearness right. But atleast all of them have been drinkable. Need to ask for a recipe from my Godfather, he makes a really good brew from home grown hops.

Currently I have 10 liters of apple cider in my basement. I also like to brew kvass from time to time. Home made kvass is so much better than what they sell in stores. It works almost like beer, just it doesn't have alcohol - well technically it does, but it's so small amount it's generally considered safe for children.

I want to get a copper still and make moonshine rather then beer but to each his own though I wouldn't mind brewing bear just to try my hand at brewing.

Beer is fun to brew. Especially if you have decent equipment. The worst part is cleaning, but decent equipment makes that easier (typically).
