@Nizam Adrienne these down the gauntlet! 
I accept the challenge of reading and reacting to the first 3 in the Mistborn series . I’ll try to hide spoilerz, but I am going to be using chapters instead of page numbers. Audiobooks don’t spell out everything, so guess at the names/titles I misspell. 

I’ll start by rereading book 1 - The Final Empire. 
Then book 2 - The Well of Ascension. 
Finally book 3 - The Hero of Ages.

Beginning 

Thoughts As I Read: 

someone has imposter syndrome. A liar has to be peddling something. What he pushing. There’s ash..what burned? Must’ve been a lot. sigh I’m so bad with names Skaa are slaves on a plantation. Obligators are…tattoo’d  lawyers?. Inquisitors are police. I hate everyone and everything so far. Lords have contracts with the Ruler… 

oh look MC playing peekaboo. Kelsier, is not a slave. 
So this Is post apocalypse. The Mist is scary apparently. Kelsey is a scarred inconsiderate MF. 
Ugh. Slave revolution story -__-  The Pits are somehow worse Skaa slavery acting as prison. 

oh so Kelsy’s a magician. Or alchemist with digestive issues. 
Blaming the victim 👿  If Kelsey Is skaa with magic, and skaa arent supposed to have magic. Then magic is in the bloodlines and Kelsey Is a half blood prince. :B

Mist Wraith is real or lore? Kelsey burned down the big house. Good. But you can’t force a rebelión 🤦 scared impassioned ppl don’t fight well. 
Thought Summary: 

Summary: Brandon’s lack of understanding of how that kind of slavery impacts a person/group is clearly lacking. How can you have a group of slaves, cowed malnourished tired and in pain, be welcoming to a stranger, as if they weren’t afraid of getting in trouble or as if a rando getting through security isn’t of note, and then have some witty verbal repartee, as if they were educated or versed in politics. Plus i auto dislike books with slavery. Krlsiers attempts to “help” seem short sighted atm. Brandon is doing a decent job of parsing information about the world well though.

Running Thoughts : 

another rich man monologue. more ash.. 

Vinn is a lurker, with a harsh outlook. Free from What…PTSD. ruthless Is not an emotion. Vinn is a different slave type. Oh so this is recently enough to Kelsey’s stunt. Vinn is an emotion magician? Hmm thats a complex scam. Ew another creep. 
Her brother Sold her. -_- Lord Scammer losing a bid zzzzz 😴 vinn magic saved the scam and I got a vague nod to an unknown prophecy of revolution. Way to artificially build drama. 
Thought Summary: 

Summary: not gonna think about how a scammer impersonated/made-up a Lord that tricked the “scary” obligators.   This whole chapters was contrived to setup Vinns character. 

 
Chapter 2 

Rnunning Thoughts: 

Luthadel is the capitol and was built post apocalypse. Stone walls wood roofs, castles for the Lords, sounds like Victorian era. Where’s tiny Tim with his sooty clothes…

City slaves. Yay. -_- Mega castle for the ruler. 
The ash what’s are active? Mounds? Damn mumbling narrator. 3 years post Pitts. K 
Sneaky Kelsey meeting with sneaky  Doxen. Like the weenydog, in his 30’s?
Immortal ruler that prefers pure bloods. Mk Voldemort. 
Kelsey does wtf he wants with no input from allys. Kelsey is a misting, which is code for magician or sneaky ninja. 
Kelsy is another scam planner. What’s a Smoker? A metal smith? More names invited to a party. Kelsey has a brother, who is not a happy rebel. 
 
Vinn is hiding in a secret bar. 6 months of slavery and a lifetime of avoiding rapist. LordScammer going to Ministry finance building full of Obligators. Vinn the favorite lucky slave. LordScammer doing a double cross. I can’t keep track of landscapes. So the city has Canals. why the hell does Vinn care about crime lords getting backstab)bed. -Eyeroll- as if they were decent ppl. Are there different types of obligator? Vinn’s instincts are right, abort meeting. Vinn & her emotion magic worked. 👀 
 
Kelsy is snacking. Gib. Kelsy knows Vinn is a thief, how does the ministry not. Vinn is an unaware magician/alchemist then. Here comes the apprenticeship. Aliñan y, Mistings, Smokers, ugh. Metal laden water, that’s a health hazard. Spikes through their eyes?! Wtf that’s a hardcore zombie cop headed to Vinn. Zkelsy getting drunk n drinking metal shaving, definitely has digestive issues. Zinc affects emotions. So there’s too much zinc in the city water. 
 
Terrace has snowy mountains ands it’s happy ppl made dark prophecies. Are these a traveler’s diary quotes?
Thought Summary: 

I’m hoping details don’t matter cuz I barely followed the scam Vinn helped with. I don’t like the magic system of ingesting metal to do magic. Clearly Kelsy is a rebel leader in a city he hasn’t been in for 3 years, and want Vinn to join. Are all magicians supposed go to the Obligators?





 
Chapter 3

running thoughts: 

Kamen is…oh LordScammer. Boxings are currency. Agree that displaying 3K money is dumb. Vinn has fear of being alone but mistrusts everyone? Instincts are still decent. Why is she not leaving. She never learned to be ready to dip out quickly. She’s sentimental. Just one earring? Is she not allowed to go outside at all, why.. Ugh so many mistakes. RUTHLESS IS NOT AN EMOTION. Vinn is observant but not quick. What’s his plan to liberate Vinn. LordScammer knows Doxen and Kelsy. Hathsin is the pitts I assume. Inquisitors are on hard difficulty level. Kelsy doesn’t blink when murdering a whole plantation of bad guys, but doesn’t want to kill a crime boss who beats his slave. Da fuq. Milev is the 2nd in command of crime lord. Lawl Kelsy took their money then paid to rent their place with it. Kelsy has emotion manipulation, telekinesias, and ppl sensing. Not everyone can resist emotion manipulation. Half breeds , yup Voldemort. misting is a type of Alymancy, so what other types r there. Wtf r misting then if these magicians aren’t it >.< Ruler gave the bloodlines magic. -__-  ***Theory I have. Lots could do magic, but anyone outside the designated families were killed and disinformation was spread until everyone else forgot the truth about magic.* I’m hoping Kelsy didn’t kill the Inquisitor cuz of a long term plan or from lack of skill; not lack of will. He says paranoid I say cautious. Was it 8 emotion changes or 8 magic tricks? 1 trick ponies are mistings. Are you telling me 2 of the 8 magic tricks are emotion manipulation. So what 2 more are object push n pull -___- Orphan Vinny, pehlan father means inquisitor father? Mistborn are super magicians. 2/3 Mistborn r half skaa? Wait, are all the nonNobility skaa?

Thought Summary: 

:Magic system is dumb. Ruler guy is obsessed with magic. Vinn is like Jasmine singing a whole new world.
