Of Piracy

Are you okay with pirating things like movies and songs?

Its like taxes, its theft. Artists and support staff pour their hearts into an album or movie. If you want their music or videos, support them yourself, or through listening or watching a friends copy, or go without. Realistically if we were on the other side of the fence I find it hard to think we wouldn't want to be repaid for our efforts.

If it's established and has been for awhile, pirate away. If it's from a big company like Netflix or Crunchyroll, Pirate away. If it's newer, or from a smaller company, (or music), then wait a bit and see what happens

I can't afford to watch/listen to everything I want to but I do support small and local bands and my local cinema. Pirating from borderline monopolies who treat their staff like shit doesn't make me lose any sleep.

this. don't pirate from small creators.

If I already own the music in the form of a LP or cassette tape why should I have to buy it again in digital format so that I can make my own mix CD's or have a music company tell me I can't rip a CD to have it on more than one device? It was bad enough when I had to rebuy everything to go from 8 track to cassette.

I am generally opposed to it but can't say I've never done it. That is especially the case when it comes to things that I would like to have - and pay for - but that is not available in Germany or Europe. Which is the case a lot of times when it comes to shows and the like from Japan.
