Of Omicron

Do you or anyone you know have or has Covid?

I had Covid a year ago, but I been taking every precautions to stay safe and I haven’t had Covid since then. But I don’t have lot of symptoms for it. Just fatigue mainly

Have seen a ton of positive tests lately from friends and family. Thankfully all have their shots so just a day or two under the weather but my county and state are maxed out on hospital space and it’s still getting worse here.

I’ve heard of many, many positive test results lately. Lost my father to Covid in September and have had several family members get it.  All but 2 were vaccinated so at least they had milder cases. I have a history of lung issues so I’ve been careful what risks I take but I try to balance it with living and getting out too.

Both modi 1 and 2 have cocos currently, they are not jabbed being teenagers. Worst symptoms they had where hot and cold flush’s and a headache (modi 1 has no symptoms). I am triple jabbed and haven’t caught it. Generally I am not concerned over covid, I understand that it can effect people with underlying health issues (my BiL caught it and died in Christmas Eve) though so can see why some people maybe concerned, however I can see there is a lot of complacency the further this goes on (lack of social distancing, not wearing masks failing to vaccinate etc) which I am sure will not help the overall situation

Etat and missus Etat (and probably our x3 mini Etats) are all currently Covid positive and enjoying quarantine together, presumed to be omicron given the present climate of rampant transmission.

TBH, and somewhat brutally, if one were to catch Covid I think Omicron is the one to get (early days still really though).  Seems to be significantly milder though much more virulent.  I approve of such mutations tbh, perhaps Covid will mutate itself into irrelevance 🤞

I had it over Christmas and it ruined our ski trip and well basically Christmas :(

But thankfully it was like a mild flu.

Everyone I know is basically getting it left and right now. Thankfully it's been all mild/medium!

Damn sorry to hear that.
Thanks, Miller.  Lost my mom at the beginning of the pandemic due to heart failure secondary to pneumonia but the doctor refused to test for covid saying it didn't matter because the outcome was the same.  Made me wonder at the time why they wouldn't test though.  I wanted to know if my father had been exposed.  If he had been exposed he didn't come down with it at that time in any event.  It found him later.  I know too many people (friends, neighbors, people from church) who have died because of this thing.  Sorry to be a downer, but it hit me today when I learned another friend was placed on a ventilator on his 14th day in a hospital and his wife has been told to expect at least a 2 month stay in a rehab hospital once he leaves the acute hospital.

My wife and I are both positive right now. Probably the kids too. Kids are fine and generally asymptomatic.

Wife and I are both fully vaccinated, and I had covid (no symptoms) just 4 months ago. I have no idea what I'm talking about, but it definitely seems to be crazy contagious. Thankfully the symptoms appear to be relatively minor, all things considered.
