I don’t know what kerosene is, but I’d say they’ll definitely be sitting with a combustion type engine to fly planes. Where and how the fuel is produced might change.

Kerosene is like a slightly lighter, hotter burning diesel. It's a petroleum distillate. I can see something similar being used, but from a non-fossil source.

Growing up we’d (my brothers and sisters) all sit around a kerosene heater morning and night in winter.  Still enjoy the smell of burning kero!!
