Pepe came around and had his hay day 2 years ago, probably stretching to last year. He's not a meme anymore, he's a 'hate symbol' that people use as reactionary imagery. People don't make images with captions and crying pepes anymore.

I went over to someone else's house recently for a family event and they were talking about this great scandal where Trump had been caught using a neo-nazi symbol, Pepe the frog. I had to make an excuse and run outside so I wouldn't die laughing. Pepe is definitely a contender this year.

If you needed examples to know what it meant, you probably shouldn't have voted anyways. It's like if you knew nothing about presidential candidates, but you still voted anyways.
