Haha bunch of Smart @$$es. I'm talking about on our own as in without planes and stuff

I highly doubt, i can only see this being achievable through evolution, unless scientist start investing in science that can allow them to genetically alter/evolve/enhance the human gene to allow us to fly like superman.

Eh, we probably already can use Genetic engineering to create a person with the capability to fly...however of course, the question of ethics quickly arises

Ahhh ethics in science, a hindrance or a saving grace.

I think that one day humans will have the ability to fly on their own (prehaps just "Hulk flying"=big fracking jumps that just seem like flying) but this probably wont come naturally by any means because what is the incentive for humans to fly? Predators are required for a widespread species to undergo change but humans find themselves in dominion over all of God's creatures. So, yes, it will likely happen, but no it shall not be natural. Some bloke is going to come out of a testube with super strong jumping legs or wings or something.

Genes are actually a lot more complicated than we know about them right now. Sure, you can splice certain genes into an organism, but considering one gene can code for everything between hair color and penis size all at the same time, it takes a lot more than just plopping the gene for wings into a human and voila.

Personally, I think we might figure out how to turn our arms into wings, but considering we would also need hollow bones, less muscle, and less fat to actually be able to fly, we would probably resemble birds or some really ugly scraggly looking creature with an oversized head, which would kind of defeat the purpose of getting a human to fly.

The whole question revolves around what you think a human is, and if after all those genetic modifications, whether they are still human or not. Because if you're changing so many human genes into bird genes or something, would we be birds or humans?

Humans evolved to be really good with tools. A monkey can learn to use a sword, but it won't reach a level of mastery where it can use a sword as an extension of its body. Humans on the other hand can manipulate fighter jets with such a high level of skill it's practically part of their bodies.

So there's no use evolving wings when we're already superior at flying than birds and dragons.

I think the argument is for smaller scale tools than an airplane to allow use to fly rather than evolving wings.
