Finding a better game than P&W

eve online

let's all hate ourselves

Lol why did I never notice you here? Eve is kinda like heroin. One of those things I'd really like to try some day but am smart enough not to. Or at least not desperate enough yet.

I actually found that the free-to-play account limit allowed more land than I'd ever care to manage anyway unless I was a massive autist or something. With TKR's sheer numbers we could easily build a powerful empire in Might&Fealty and beat the shit out of paying multi-users. But the game is a weird combination of requiring a lot of time but also being extremely slow, and the fact that it relies so much on serious RP is a major problem. Serious RP can sometimes be great but usually it just means weird conflicts of opinion and drama with people who don't give a fuck about RP.

Good point. I played it mostly solo. Went on and off a few years. Each time getting fucked over by someone whose "brother" kept sending big armies after me, all legally.

Yeah it was the pacing that put me off. It's not bad with the synchronization we can pull off with TKR - basically just hang out on Slack all day and ping people to do something. The reason I wanted more land was because there was nothing else to do.

And honestly, we're pretty good roleplayers. Look at that Dalinar guy who decided to build a whole fucking alliance to roleplay with. I have over a decade serious roleplay experience; it's not bad at all if you're not with people who force their own expectations on you.

i do agree with might and fealty thou but its gonna need a solid background for rp set by the top brass of the guild... and guild wars is cool to play if people are up for it (i said it once before thou ...xD

guild wars 2 would be cool because I have it already

also its fun and I burnt out on it too much when it first came out but I would be down with installing it again if people are up for it

Guild Wars 2 is a pretty decent game, I also burned out on it the first time I played. I used to play the first one a lot when it was a new thang. of the MMOs it's probably one the ones I think requires less grinding if my memory isn't shit.

nah it practicaly doesnt have quest system is all about dynamic events so its less tiring and if we have a couple of max people in the guild we could send xp boost that are cheap as f to people and even decent gear so lvling in it isnt a pain...

If you guys decide to try to invade one of these games, I can't personally commit to the game. However, I can reorganize the forums/mask permissions to make things easier for you.

Right now the three main subforums on our boards are:

  • The Welcome Station
  • The Knights Radiant P&W Alliance
  • Sparring Grounds
I'll add a board for whatever game is decide upon and can make masks/mods for the subforum etc

Guild Wars 2 is a game about your own pace. If you commit too much you'll burn out easily. I burnt out quickly myself at first, but playing with friends now. It's more enjoyable, especially with the new additions they added. It's also buy to play so no subscription pain. You can transfer ingame money to paid currency if you want fancy costumes and all. They are starting to add raids, and casually adding stuff over time. It doesn't have the speed of subscription game but that's a given.

they have already added raids and the game has raid content

the good thing is gw2 if decided to play doesnt need that much time on it unless you wanna go hardcore , i logged in for just 2 hours each day did a world quest or dung did and then logged off so yeah no time wasting on it ,and it has a good pvp system which hue groups can take advantage off and use so all and all its a good go if people are into it .

Looks like Albion is P&W's pick. IMO it's right in the sweet spot of MMOs.

It's not free to play which means you don't have the P&W effect which relies on a few people paying big money to support all the people who aren't paying anything. It lowers the incidence where some people join but quit almost immediately after. Very little microtransaction reliance and the cash currency and in game currency are interchangeable like P&W credits. Basically you just have to pay an entrance fee.

The premium months don't give special parts of the game. They just lower the grind by giving bonus XP/resources and free points every day regardless of whether you log on. Stuff that is bought with real world cash can all be looted. So you can experience the full game without monthly payments.

The scale is nice. Hundreds of thousands of players, with mid sized guilds having hundreds of players.

Guilds can build cities and conquer territory. The more dangerous the territory, the higher the rewards. If you want to play casual, you can do so in no PvP areas, but the deadly PvP areas are the best for gathering and looting. So technically people can make raider guilds as well as strongholds.

Classes/skill are all item based, so if you want to be a mage, just pick up a mage staff and blow things up. Items determine your skills.

The crafting aspect is really detailed. Everything major is built by players. Good gatherers will find enchanted resources, good crafters will forge higher quality, even legendary artifacts. The crafting can be really specialized too. So someone can be the best at sewing mage boots whereas someone else could be a legendary pick axe crafter.

The game is still in beta, but will be reset for the final time next month. Everything bought with real money in the beta will be given back after reset, so it's a great time to just spend gold and points experimenting with things.

https://albiononline.com/?ref=74L6ANWUBS is my referral code in case anyone wants to play. The referral codes are a bit weird. You'll have to register an account after clicking, doesn't matter if you're going to buy the game or not. They're linked to the account.

For those of us who are lazy, mind giving a brief description of them and why you think they would be good candidates for us to spread to :).

Please and danke.

No, I mean the images you linked aren't showing anything.
Oh, but anyway ... I'll explain their gameplay.

Call of War: It is a real-time MMO strategy game where players must choose a scenario, either historical or fictional, to play against other players that can be up to 100 in a game (there are also countries controlled by the AI).
It is a game where you play with a country either selected by you or by the computer, you must grow your country economically and militarily, therefore, the '' war '' has many more interactions and is more realistic than other games.

SimCountry: It is an MMO strategy game where players are assigned to be the leader or president of a country to govern it and make it grow in political, military and economic terms.
This game is much more complicated than anyone who has seen, since you must be attentive to everything (practically).

If you want to know more about the gameplay of the games, you can play them, they are all free with optional in-game payments.
