Debate subforum

Should we make a new subforum for debates?

I have a few ideas over it but what would you guys the mink to a debate forum/hypothetical questions forum. Now it will have rules so to keep the peace. But it will have questions such as what if......or can blank happen without blank....or even questions as to politics. Anyone can make one but all debates should follow rules. Depending on how things go well might have one a week or one a day. All will be discussed at a later time but these are a few things you could see all of which is subject to change. Answer the poll and reply with any thoughts, comments, fears, ect.

Its not about avoiding the counter argument, its about making sure it remains civil and everything, including the contradicting viewpoints, are presented respectfully. I think having some basic debate rules should be posted somewhere and stickied even if we don't give controversial stuff its own subforum. 

They should be kept as debates. not arguments. 

Kids argue, adults debate and discuss. And if you are going to bring it into the public forum then it better be kept mature because no one likes a pissy and annoying litle kid repeating all his opinions.

 I am sorry argue is the literal translation from Portuguese I meant debate argue in Portuguese is debate.Anyway rules are elementary Watson but freedoom of speech is also in the agenda.

 
I am debating the answer to this poll. 

If I were to agree, then I would need a subforum to debate, therefore I couldn't have debated this to begin with and must wait for the subforum to come to debate it. But, if the subforum comes then there is no more to debate and then I would be agreeing that there should be a subforum, which I am debating but can't debate.

Rules are need least it devolve over times from a good debate to something pathetic. See below.

When I am reading a debate all I want to be thinking is "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and "BURN" while laughing my butt off on how savage the conversation is.

Your freedom of speech, if it violates basic rules of decency, needs to be adjusted. You are entitled to any opinions you wish to have but it should be a goal of every person to present them in a way that is respectable. Freedom of speech and rules of debate can very easily coexist. I do not feel like this is a valid argument against rules in adebate subforum.

also pls ban Konakaga from the new subforum, I get negative rep from them every time I say anything in a debate and it hurts my feelings

You need the rules to BURN people. It's like penalty shots in soccer. 

Otherwise it degenerates into lame name calling and pron like that chicken and egg thread.

And a subforum is good in order to say "bring a thick skin here".

I don't mind the rules as long as the conversation is still savage enough for my entertainment
