I thought I might compile spoilers from folks in the Stormblessed discord channel and post them here, so those of us reading later can read along with folks' reactions. If you have perms, feel free to edit directly. With that....
Prologue and Day 1 (Chapters 1-13)

Adrienne: Hannah got 3 minutes into reading this prologue and I disrupted the poor woman's reading by accident by audibly "ugh"ing at Gavilar.
It pisses me off that this was all a show. What a dick.
Bet: I'm so glad he's dead
Adrienne: Definitely missed the bit where Gavilar was manipulating Dalinar to drink by telling him to follow the codes that night. And Dalinar beat himself up over that for years. He's so awful.
Bet: yup!
I'm glad he's dead
Sargun: I'm not, cause then I can't kill him myself
Bet: Sargun, he's fictional
and I'm pretty sure you're not
Hari: i wonder why this wasn't revealed earlier. the thing about the words too, always assumed that he was trying to help dal lol
Adrienne: It's a little heartbreaking seeing how little Gavilar seems to think of Dalinar as compared to how much Dalinar thinks of and reveres his brother.
Sargun: yeah Gavilar is a huge heckin butthole
Morf: Really is the worst character in the whole series i think
which is saying something becuase Moash exists
Sargun: naw I hate Moash way more
Gavilar at least has the "excuse" of being an Alethi King who was all-in on their objectively terrible culture, as evidenced by the Stormfather realizing too late that his problem runs deep. Moash is just a lame loser who would rather murder innocent people in a coma than go to therapy
Morf: considering kaladin is creating the therapy industry on roshar that last part is a little unfair
Sargun: IT'S THE MOST FAIR BECAUSE HE COULD BE PATIENT ZERO :waaaah: :waaaah: :waaaah:

Adrienne: We ended up reading through chapter 6 in VC tonight and I have to ask - is this whole book a Sanderlanche? Because it's feeling like it
I've had a theory for a while that the larger overarching Cosmere story wonder wind up following the same general theme and the last several final books would just be batshit, but didn't necessarily expect it to feel like that already with Stormlight 5.
Sargun: it is the endcap of the first part so it kinda fits the mold
Adrienne: But even like the end of Era 1 Mistborn wasn't like this, nor is the end of Era 2 shaping up in the same way. They were good, don't get me wrong, but not like this. But I suppose this is really sort of more than just the end of Arc 1 maybe but also this Cosmere Era/Arc, so to speak? That or this is just a bigger series or both

Adrienne: "Then, remarkably—even though she’d already hugged him—he [Kaladin] awkwardly bent and gave her [Shallan] a hug. He followed it by hugging Adolin—and if she were the jealous type, she’d have noted that Adolin’s hug was longer than hers."

It's his entire character... Cultivation "cursed" him to live his days to where the more intelligent he is the less empathy (and emotions in general) he has, and vice-versa. He retains part of this bipolar functionality even as he assumes shardhood

IC: between the death rattle from way of kings and the first couple of gavinor interactions in this book, it looks like they're setting up a Gav as Odium's champion to face Dalinar and I really hate that

Canbec: I'm not sure I understand how you see this? In any case let me know if this still holds after chapter 33
IC: one of the rattles strongly hints that the battle of champions will be against a kid; for WaT I keep seeing 1) Gav want to play swords with Dalinar and Dalinar is too busy, 2) Gav's nightmares, which I'm worried are Odium visions, and 3) Lift's advice to him to make choices people think is wrong.
Idk hope I'm wrong, but will revert back after chapter 33 lol

Oh yes I see now. So I might be reading too much into it, but wonder if these three might be related.

MCM: Those Tanavast flashbacks were amazing lore drops. Great job by Brandon in getting me to resent Tanavast and thinking that he secretly sucked only to show me his memories and see things from his point of view. Was also fun to get information about the final unknown Shard. Nale effortlessly annihilating Kaladin without surges was really something. I still don't think I can comprehend just how ridiculous the Heralds are at fighting. Kaladin getting through to Nale was incredibly poignant. I suspect that all of the Heralds will be dead and back on Braize by the end of this, and I do hope that Nale can help in Day 10. Rlain + Renarin is my favorite thing ever. All the other plotlines are looking pretty bleak tbh. I'm sure Maya will arrive with help soon, but they're going to need a lot. Hopefully Venli's maneuver on the Shattered Plains works but I'm sure there'll be some complication.

Also, one of the reversals this time was just a contract. Very not hype

I really enjoy Elantris and Warbreaker for their ability to be (mostly) self contained. What a ride tho, now I can go back and look at all the comments here from the past couple weeks
