What's to a name? (Why did you chose your name?)

I was just think everyone has some pretty interesting names and I don't know if it has been done before, but could you explain why you chose your name (in-game)? Did it sound cool? Some influence from your life?

I'll go first. 

I really love these books, I don't know if you've heard of them, but they are some pretty awesome fantasy books. The Stormlight Archive has excellent world-building, developed characters, and a wonderfully detailed magic system. In the series there is this character that I really love and, you guessed it, his name is Szeth. I partly picked him because he is the only character the books have gone into detail with in the Order of Skybreakers, <--- which I identify with.

When i was younger i picked up the nickname weasel because i could always weasel my way out of wrestling moves.  When i made one of my first toons in World of Warcraft weasel was taken so I chose Wizel (why-zul).  I use it or some iteration of it in almost everything game related, and 16 is the number I have always used in sports.

According to Wiki my nation name is from a "Video game player" and "internet personality" also what people call a Youtuber.

My leader name comes my irl name Haris but on my nation's one year anniversary I put a 1 in there. Therefore it is now Har1s.

 
When I started Politics and War the name I wanted to use was taken (can't remember what it was). I wanted a name that meant something in a different language and ended up with Hermoso which means beautiful in Spanish. 

And my slack name, badgalhehe, I got because I'm a big fan of Rihanna and she goes by badgalriri on social media. 

 
surprise :D  my name is from a Wrestler named Kevin Nash. I don't really think he is a great Wrestler but loved the NWO and NWO wolfpac that he help create.

My full username is Dio Brando, from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I shorten it to Dio just so people think I'm such an egotistical asshole that I'd style myself, "God". I hear it makes a very good first impression.

My name is from the most badass non-modified human beings in the entire Imperium, Lord Solar Macharius. 

Macharius is the greatest Warmaster/Lord Solar ever (I would contend even moreso than Horus or the Emperor), who was impressively as smart as the Primarchs and as good a leader as the Emperor even though he doesn't have the benefit of warpfuckery. He conquered all the planets all the way up to the Halo Stars, which is really impressive, but he also was killed by the Officio Assassinorum because he was getting kinda sick. 

So Macharius represents why I love the WH40k universe so much — I find it's an incredibly realistic portrayal of humanity. All the fans of the Imperium like to think that the Universe would've been so great if the Horus Heresy never happened, but when the Imperium was given a chance in the form of Macharius, they killed him for "optics."

Also, @Dio tell your guy he's got the canon wrong.

PS: Lord Solar is a title given the guy in charge of an Imperial Crusade ordered straight by the High Lords of Terra, the equivalent of Warmaster (but they prefer to avoid that one for... reasons). Unlike what many believe at first sight, he wasn't named after Sol, Terra's lifegiving star (as awesome as that might otherwise sound). Macharius' first name is actually never mentioned in the fluff.

It was once believed that Solar Macharius was Macharius' full name, and that his military rank in the Imperial Guard was Lord Commander; however, revelations of "Lord Solar" being an auxiliary title for the rarely bestowed Imperial rank of Warmaster (the latter held by the Arch-Traitor Horus, and thus scorned and viewed as an ill-omen by some after the Horus Heresy) have led to questions as to whether "Solar" was part of his title, or part of his name. The newest Imperial Guard codex mentions the title of Lord Solar "most gloriously being held by St. Macharius," and the actual recorded dialogue between him and his deputy commander, General Sejanus, refers to him as "the Lord Solar." 

 
My original name here was alextaylor. Long story, but I used it in Project Terra, based on a meme at the time about some chick named Alice Taylor convincing a player to put a shoe on his head over skype and dumped the logs, and that sounds like the kind of thing I'd do. And at the time I was kinda annoyed with how female players who won elections or recruited well were seen as getting some unfair advantage because they were female. Sometimes girls really do get an unfair advantage too. So I morphed it into a more gender neutral nick, alextaylor.

Anyway, a certain Sheepy decided to come out of the closet as the official Alex. So I became Sheepy. But nope, it was "confusing other players" and people reported me lol

At that time "alextaylor" was becoming too wordy for people to type on IRC and I wanted something one syllable. I was getting a little annoyed with all the blue balls/no balls jokes around TKR, as if you need balls to be bloodthirsty. So I went with something a little more feminine but still gender neutral enough to scare anyone from hitting on me.
