Wars across games

Many of you are familiar with CyberNations, someone tell me why I'm fighting VE and NPO yet again in another universe?  :x I think they like me?

I never played CN and this is the first nationbuilder game I've played. From my understanding, NPO and other CN imports are known for crossing over. Meaning tensions in one game cause the same in another. They don't treat it like a separate game. That's the best explanation I can give with my limited knowledge of the subject but others can probably explain it a lot better.

If you haven't read this thread, it's not exactly the same topic but it talks about the background of CN alliances in P&W:

I grew up playing permadeath roleplay intensive MUDs.

Every character you roll is unique and different. If a character dies, the usual approach is to start another character as far away from your previous character as possible. That way, you don't get spoilers, you don't feel sad meeting your previous character's old friends, and you don't carry over grudges.

I feel it's uncreative to bring over the same alliances across worlds. There's just so many things they could do, so many ways to evolve. Like I love what RIA did with Arrgh. There's that CN veteran who switched character to Dalinar and created a whole alliance based around his nation roleplay.

All my 4 characters in CN were very different. Even my 2-3 P&W characters were different. My characters are not me. There is a lot of misalignment between Rin Misaki and who I am IRL, and that's just because playing the anti-hero is so much more fun than well... playing as my boring self.

So I always feel out of place when someone imports their same characters, same alliances, and same relationships.

I know exactly what you mean. It's a breath of fresh air to come out as a new persona every now and then, even to do it with friends. I had a group of players that decided we would all come back as a new AA, with new characters, it was probably the most fun we ever had.
