God save my wallet

Stellaris is awesome btw, totally recommend it.

I've heard it can get kind of repetitive/stale once you get out from the initial expanding/building phase thoughts?

They recently came out with some updates and plan to do more for Stellaris. I haven't played it much since I binged on it for the first two weeks but I look forward to seeing the new changes when I'm not so busy.

It certainly changes, and empire management is a bit less interesting, though as your empire becomes larger factions become more prevelent and need to be managed more so its really just different (unless you enslave/purge the dissidents which is what I am doing for my first play through which does make it easier.)

Wars become more interesting later on though when people have more fleets and ftl can take you deeper in for raids and such, so its still fun there.  But as the interesting parts switch from empire management to wars I can see it being a bit stale in the rebuilding phase between wars.

there's a multiplayer option too right?

The Stellaris multiplayer is the most stable of any paradox game out including the later released HoI4. I ran a game with 16+ people with zero issues and we played for 8+ hours on a weekend. Great fun was had. It's definitely an excellent mp game.
