I have no idea what any of these things mean.

ETA: looking at your link I apparently do the lateral tripod.

I was under the impression (a holdover from when I was taught to write) that any way other than dynamic tripod is pathological.  Same as being a lefty ofc, but that is what the cane is for I guess 🤣

Man I used to think I was the only one with a super horrible grip. But apparently lateral quadrupod is my people. Can confirm the fatigue comment too.

Very cool poll idea @Novax25! I was not familiar with any of these positions (and truthfully just assumed everyone held writing implements like I do), but apparently I'm in the minority as a dynamic quadrupod.

I use the dynamic tripod apparently. Never knew that's what it was called, thanks for the poll, Nova. But yeah, when I was a kid, we were basically conditioned into using the dynamic tripod. Not through scolding or anything negative but they had us use these to teach us how to hold it "properly".

If anyone wants to give it a try/thinks it would help them with comfort, here's a link to some grips: https://www.amazon.com/Pencil-Grip-Assorted-Bright-TPG-17550/dp/B00CKGO1VG/.
