Frankly though, the fact that Russia had put its nuclear weapons on high alert suggests that there was some frustration on Putin's part, particularly since I don't think he expected such resistance. He's done it before, and each time it didn't lead to nuclear armageddon any more than I suspect it will this time.
That being said though, it's a toss-up at this point; we haven't had a conflict like this in Europe in quite some time, let alone one Russia's involved in. Only time can tell, I guess.
