Absolutely. Dealing with homelessness even in my small city, the continued proposal of new housing programs always runs into the roadblock of location. Always met with protesting and picketing.
On a larger scale, there is a severe housing supply shortage nationally and even internationally that homeowners are largely responsible for, as they have the same response when multi-family unit construction is proposed. Places like the Bay Area desperately need to be turning single lots into housing for 4-6 people, but cannot do so.

Not In My Backyard basically is having a wealthy suburban area refuse to build a public work like low income housing or something like that but still demand the city build low income housing, just not in their neighborhood because the poors and such. So basically being massive hypocrites.
