After the 0 food output seen for a day or so this war, do you guys think a treaty will be agreed to by the major alliances in regards to the use of nuclear weapons?

I think it should be pursued but I am a terrible pessimist, not sorry about that either.  They just give too much of an edge defensively from what I have seen. No matter what the treaty says no one is going to disarm at all.

People may agree not to use them except for defense, that's possible. But still wouldn't do too much to help as Orbis is slowly maxing out nukes

Yes but some people would not follow it (TEst). I think it's good for growth though. Nations lose a lot on nuke purchase and maintenance.

No, it's the only way for people in losing situations to deal damage. Early on, Best Leader got hit by a Rose whale and I had him use nukes to try and even the damage while we were busy elsewhere.

Like IC said, since nations on the verge of defeat have little to no military, with nukes being their only asset to get the upper hand with. These food problems can be countered by effective logistics management and higher warchest requirements.

I cannot see a Nuke Treaty happening on Orbis. The world is divided into two spheres. Both of which hate each other's guts. No one is giving away their defensive capabilities. Not to mention that it's the only thing our enemies know how to do other than naval battles  :P   All we have to do is make our food req's high enough to last through say 60days and nukes wouldn't be a problem. The real question should be, how else is Alex going to try and cripple our military in order to further push the Politics side of the game?

I feel like something like that would happen but then some guy will use them and then the person they used it on will use them and then everyone will use them and yeah

The idea is to keep them to a maximum so that when they do use them it won't be as bad.

I think this will discourage people to use them, but in wartime, people will just have a bigger food stockpile, like Micchan said. Now if radiation lingered for longer, say 20-30 days, then that would discourage people from nuking. 8 days is too small of a timeframe for people to care about it. They'll be like "I can wait it out" But if it was longer they would be discouraged from it happening. Now, that doesn't mean alliance won't discourage it, it just means we have to wait and see.

Right now, anything is possible.

Even if it were a year it wouldn't discourage people. The only reason people would do this is because having nukes hurts the individual who owns them but benefits the group they're in.

In the near future, people with nukes will find that their nuclear stockpiles will decrease whether they like it or not. Players have already begun to take things into their own hands. A treaty would never be ratified by everyone, but pressure will be applied on nuclear nations and there will be less nukes on Orbis, one way or another.
