Neoliberal economics

If you believe neoliberal economics is destroying society, I'd be curious to know what school of economics you do like? It seems you're equating neoliberal economics with capitalism, but many other economists and schools of thought also embrace capitalism. For instance, Keynesian economic ideas are very different from neoliberal ones, but are still capitalist. Is your gripe with capitalism in general? Neoliberal economics specifically?

What do you mean by destroying western society? For the last couple centuries, most western economies have been predominantly capitalist, so do you think that they have been destroying society ever since their introduction? Are you conflating imperialism with capitalism?

That's a pretty broad claim you're making, and maybe some clarification would help me understand just what it is you're arguing. I certainly have some issues with policies/economic ideas embraced by neoliberals, but I also wouldn't say it is destroying western society.

I've just been hankering for some spankering lately. Let's talk about neoliberal economics. For those curious:

My take is that neoliberal economics is destroying society in general. Particularly western society but basically anywhere the idea of capitalism touches.

Thoughts?

I would have to disagree with you here. I would actually say the opposite is destroying western civilization, and the world as a whole.

America itself has always been capitalist. I don't think there is any room for arguing. It was founded on "Neoliberalism" ideals, though it was called the unalienable rights of men back then.

Britain has always been more controlling, and I would classify it, and most of Europe as socialist as of right now. So, really, the only country in the Western Culture is America, in which it has always been that way.

Therefore, if you think that America has been declining, it has been because of the liberal agenda, and the destruction of America's Government.

"Neoliberalism" isnt new. It is core fundamental rights of a people to be free.
