DIKPIC Weekly: The worst decision you ever made

Bear

Technically in the Orderless Order
Another week, another DIKPIC. I'm pretty sure by this point everyone know what to do so let's get on to it. But if anyone wants an explanation then it's literally I post stuff, usually a question or a discussion, and people answer stuff so the forum to make the forum a little bit more lively.

Since we had a poll on your greatest achievement a while back (and not because I'm a lazy ass or smth), I figured I might as well reverse the question and ask, what's your worst decision you ever made? For example, it could be any decision including but not limited to deciding to procrastinate on assignment, deciding not to confess to your childhood crush or joining TKR. What would you consider to be your worst decision you ever made?

Oh btw, if you have any suggestions idea for DIKPIC discussions/poll that I could make then feel free to tell me

worst decision I ever made was moving out of my home in Trona 10 years ago... it's been nonstop sleeping rooms for 9 of those 10 years... lesson learned, no matter how enticing the offer, never help a friend if it puts you out ..<

"Oh, come on! It's more fun without condoms."

without going into a life history I will try to sum things up.. I was living in a 3 bedroom house with a yard, for $400 a month on a month to month lease. The house wasnt in the best of shape but the landlord was slowly fixing it up. I was offered an opportunity to "house sit" a smaller house in better shape in a better area (4 hour drive away) to help a friend of a friend out who's mom owned the house but recently moved out into a retirement community. she was looking for someone to live there and keep the place up (water trees and grass, do any minor repairs as they happened etc) until she sold the house. I knew initially that it would probably be a long term gig as she was asking 5x what the house was worth. It was on a yearly auto renewing agreement

Well when the end of year 1 was getting close (year end was dec and I asked in Oct if they would be allowing the contract to auto-renew or if they would be choosing to terminate the contract at the end of that year. I was ASSURED that they had no interest in cancelling (patrt of the agreement was a stipulation that the new owner would be buying the contract if they bought the house and would have to pay me in cash any remaining monies on that contract (@400 per mointh) if they chose to terminate the contract with an emergency termination clause that if i didnt get 30 days notice that they would also be liable for 1200 bux early termination fee)... it was a sweet deal for me :)... anyhow, I was ASSURED in writing that the owner of the house had no interest in cancelling the contract at the end of the 1st term... so, I went about my merry way and bought everyone i knew extravagant xmas gifts.... dec 15th comnes along and I get notice delivered to me that contract will be terminated end of current term, that I had 30 days to vacate...

since then I been moving from 1 sleeping room to another since I make so litrtle on disability that i cant afford 1st and last rents plus securoity in southern california, and the more time that passes the harder it is for me to find a place of my own even if I could afford it since I have no real verifiable rental history for the last 9 years.

That time when I said "Oh, come on! It's more fun without condoms" and they believed me.

That time when I cancelled the contract at the end of the 1st term.

That time when I said "a small fire can't be dangerous" and he believed me.

Not taking school more seriously until it was too late, cost me chance of getting into top law schools.

The worst "single" decision would probably be not doing study abroad when I was in college

The worst decision I will be making in the future is asking one of my close friends out who I am pretty sure just sees me as a friend

Transferring universities. I've never felt more isolated, failed so hard academically, and felt like such shit before. On the bright side, I only cried myself to sleep once this week on my birthday. My biggest solace is I'll graduate this year.

Hey I might be a pyromaniac , but I am a nice Pyromaniac.
Well, I guess you know the saying: "Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life."

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him how to fish , and feed him for a life time.

But that new saying is more cool I will instead use that one.

Worst decision- Either staying in IB or applying to 13 colleges.
IB is not that bad. Give decent uni entry requirement

Nah jk, IB is brutal especially having IA, Extended Essay and CAS stacked upon shitton of other work and exam preparation. Glad Im done with IB
