Last night was Burns night a celebration of the life and poetry of the scottish poet Robert Burns.

On Burns night the tradition is that you'll eat Haggis , usually with neeps and tatties (swede & potatoes) , but i've witnessed haggis slapped on burgers & hot dogs!

Haggis is a savoury pudding containing sheep's pluck (heart, liver & lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices and salt mixed with stock and cooked while traditionally encased in the animal's stomach though now often in an artificial casing instead.

The problem with stuff like Haggies is that you actually have to go to Scotland to try it. It's not like pasta that you can order anywhere in the world and be pleased. I'm willing to bet that if we'd find one from a supermarket in here it would be tasteless frozen shit. And if you find one in a restraunt across the great pond it would be over engineered pile of rubbish served by a chef who probably thinks shamrock is Scotish national symbol.
