Walking at the moment as I live right next to my university. Otherwise I'd go for the bus. When I lived in Tokyo it was either bike to university or train for basically anywhere else.

When possible I take a train. I can sit, use my laptop and do stuff or watch videos when I'm tired. They are also faster and don't get into traffic jams. When train is not an option I take my car.

You can sit, use your laptop and do stuff and watch videos when tired all in the back of an Uber.

Faster in what sense? Distance over time or time to get from point A to B? I would agree that they travel faster in the sense of distance over time, but from point A to B is dependant on point A, B, and the train network.

I live 5 minutes walk away from the train station, I work 5 minutes walk away from a train station. And trains have mroe direct route so they out perform the car by alot. Furthermore I have larger room in a train, cinluding a desk for my laptop. With wifi.

When going to school, I usually drive.
When around town, I usually walk since I live close to "downtown".
When going into Philly, I usually take the train in since I don't like driving in congested areas yet.
When available, I do take mass transit unless the alternative is significantly faster.
