1st European Summit

The dissolution of the European Union left many nations in western Europe on the brink of collapse. Amidst the chaos, several nations decided to form their own military blocs, with the newfound European Federation being a prominence among others, alongside the Holy Roman Empire. Tensions between the  two have worried many European leaders, urging them to pick a bloc and defy the other. Meanwhile, Switzerland, having been threatened by Eastern powers, decided to abandon its centuries-old policy of armed neutrality, and started signing mutual defense pacts with other western European nations in hopes of protecting itself from foreign aggressions. In times of desperate situations, several leaders of western European nations including Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Portugal, and Switzerland gathered together with EuroFed leaders in Paris to discuss terms of a possible military alliance with the European Federation.

After several days of lengthy discussions, the first European summit concluded with several groundbreaking decisions:

1. In hopes of protecting themselves from eastern powers' aggressions, Switzerland and Belgium hereby agreed to merge into the European Federation, becoming EF states in the process.

2. The European Federation, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, and Austria will work together in multiple sectors, particularly the militarization of Europe, this includes the formation of a Mutual Defense Treaty pact between signatories.

3. Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, and Austria agreed to have EF military units stationed within their borders, in exchange for protection by European Federation.

During the summit, delegations from Greece and Cyprus also met with EF leaders and discussed several issues concerning Turkey's occupation of the northern third of Cyprus and Greece's massive debt. Cyprus agreed to merge into the EF in exchange for the liberation of its northern third, and Greece in exchange for removal of its massive debt.

With Cyprus now being an EF state, a military operation against Turkish military contingent occupying Northern Cyprus is expected in the near future, since Turkey had refused to withdraw from the area, even after being warned by EF officials.

The People's Democratic Republic of Algeria would like to work with the European Federation on bilateral ties between the EF and the Algerian government that would include increased economic ties and trade as well as possible military developments such as joint training exercises in Europe with Algerian participation in the name of increased friendly ties with Europe as well as to further develop decreased tariffs between Algeria and the EF. Furthermore, the Algerian government would like clarificaiton of the European Federation's position on the developments occurring in Southern Asia.

The European Federation would continue to develop bilateral ties between the EF and the Algerian government provided that:

1. The Algerian government has no ties to the Arab League, Turkey, and members of the Alpha Helix Accord, particularly India.

2. The Algerian government will not intervene in ongoing military tensions between the EF and Turkey.

Regarding the recent developments in Southern Asia, the President of the Federation has issued her statement: The European Federation hereby condemns the actions committed by India in Southern Asia. The European Federation Military has been put on highest alert in the face of multiple military aggressions committed by Eastern powers, and is ready to defend Europe and her allies' sovereignty at all costs. Should Indian forces move farther west and attempt to attack Europe, the use of weapons of mass destruction on major Indian cities WILL occur.

As the military leader of Russia and a member of the AHA I hope that the leaders of France to kindly note that Russia has not committed a single act of aggression around the world and currently only has free trade and international economic growth measures on the table for discussion.

With the permission of the Foreign Affairs minister of Russia I would like to ask the France to reconsider or refine the first term of the European Federation's cooperation with Algeria. That condition may halt several economic projects planned for the near future in Northern Africa between Algeria and Russia that would help the global economy (desalination and operations to increase arable land among others).

Russia would like to thank @Patriot Girl of the European Federation and @Fanag of Algeria for their time and correspondence.

Algeria remains a committed member of the Arab League as a state with a large Arab population and Arab culture being a large part of our history and who we are today. While we are not concerned with the foreign relations of the EF and Turkey, we cannot approve of limited our diplomatic options in the name of trade.

Having examined Russia's appeal to reconsider the first term of bilateral ties between EF and Algeria, the European federal government has decided to exclude Russia from its blacklist due to the lack of evidence on Russia's participation in Southern Asian conflict. Still, remaining members of AHA, namely Sino Republic and India are to be considered hostile until proven otherwise, in line with European Federation's current foreign policies.

While we are not concerned with the foreign relations of the EF and Turkey, we cannot approve of limited our diplomatic options in the name of trade.

Unfortunately, due to European Federation's hostility with core Arab League members, namely Saudi Arabia, Iran, and several others, the European federal government cannot and will not exclude the Arab League from its blacklist for the time being. However, trade agreements between the EF and Algeria might happen in the future, provided tensions between the EF and the Arab League calm down.

The Grand Ottoman Empire, formerly the Republic of Turkey finds the actions of the European Federation antagonistic and unjust. We will not withdraw our military from the area as we see Northern Cyprus as a part of our Empire. We do not accept Greek nationalism under the guise of a United Europe. We are a strong nation and we will forge political ties with other alliances if provoked.

We do not wish for this to develop into military conflict, so we send our Ambassador to Cyprus, Mesut Sahin, to speak with the European Federation. The European Federation must agree to a truce while we negotiate the Cypriot question. I trust he will be received.

The Grand Ottoman Empire will happily work towards a peaceful resolution of this situation, however we will react with military force accordingly if provoked.

Signed,

President Erdogan

First Leader of The Grand Ottoman Empire,

Commander in Chief, Order of the High Turk I Class

HRE finds these actions as a direct threat to its national security, and demands dissolution of this pact, the HRE has only militarized to counter balance the growing threats directly on its western borders, the HRE will be offering the Russian Federation and the Ottoman Empire and chance to sign a NAP and MDAP with the HRE to deter any form of aggression from the EF

All 3 members of the AHA must agree to such a pact, however TGOE will not accept any such pact whilst HRE continues with its frankly insane Space Ballistic Policy. Should it reconsider, TGOE would endorse friendliness between our alliances.

Signed

Foreign Minister Tolan

HRE will explain the necessity of this program.

HRE does not maintain a active navy, HRE does not deem it economically viable to build a Navy as access to open waters of the ocean are blocked by potentially hostile nations..given the almost certain probability that the HRE navy would be sunk during hostilities with the EF it has chosen to allocate resources to its space program.

Give those facts above HRE cannot maintain a deterrence using missIle submarines, so we developed a space based system to replace the deterrence factor that missile subs give other nations... how can the US, Russia or any other developed nation be allowed to build submarines with first strike capability and object to HRE essentially building the same platform using a space based system.

Algeria must respectfully deny cutting ties with the Arab League for Algeria is an Arab state. It must be reminded that Turkey and Iran are not part of the Arab League, but that there are concerns the EF views the Arab League as a hostile entity and encourages regional organizations to foster cooperation rather than petty disputes for the good of the people across the Mediterranean. Algeria has historically had friendly ties and excellent economic relationships with Southern Europe and wishes to continue to enjoy friendship and cooperation, but not at the expense of Algeria's brotherhood with fellow Arabs.
