I like Star Trek more because it's meant to be mostly realistic, and provide a view into the future of mankind, and how it can survive difficulties and work together to solve issues, internal and external. While the shows to me younger were slow and boring, getting older, I enjoyed them more and Star Wars less, giving me the sense that Star Wars is better for a younger audience and Star Trek better for an older audience, but that's solely my experience. Both have their ups and downs. In the end though, I prefer Star Trek for reasons stated above, and because of the reasons stated above, it feels like it has a proper galaxy and universe, rather than Star Wars with usually one or two large governing bodies pushing most of the story.

 
Idk, I haven't seen any of the movies.  I just assumed a Ba'Tleth (sp?) Would be more appropriate considering they're 2 feet away

Very much this. Star Trek (specifically some of the series) does a great job at exploring things like the human condition. Plus I feel like I can get so attached to a crew over the course of a few hundred hours of episodes.

 
I like star was more because it's more complex, think about it. The Jedi are the bad guys, they take children from their family's when the are barely non infants, if they leave the Jedi order they hunt them down, and they also bred people just for them to die when the Sith just made robots. Star wars is more realistic because it shows how our world is in a loop, WW1 was preceded by the Napoleonic wars which was preceded by the hundred year war, which was preceded by the 3 Punic wars, and many more. just as each trilogy in star wars is a repeat.

Imagine calling the franchise who can claim less than half of its movies are good being called the big brother. Absolutely could not be me.
